Defending champions crush Medan Falcons in the opening match of the 2026 Proliga
The defending champion of the Proliga men's competition, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, crushed Medan Falcons Tirta Bhagasi with a score of 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-21) in the first match of the 2026 Proliga at the A Yani Integrated Sports Hall, Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Thursday.

After the match, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi coach Reidel Alfonso Gonzalez said the victory was important capital for the new season.

However, Reidel emphasized that his squad's quality still needs improvement, particularly in terms of strategic variation. Furthermore, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi also wants to maximize the potential of local players.

"The presence of foreign players will remain part of the team, but the main focus is on improving the quality of local athletes as a long-term investment," he said, emphasizing that his team's target is to defend the title they won last year.

Despite winning in three straight sets, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi did not have an easy match against Medan Falcons Tirta Bhagasi.

In the first set, their opponents put up a fierce fight until the very end. Bhayangkara's mental resilience allowed them to score points at crucial moments and take a 25-23 lead.
