Borussia Dortmund continued their winning streak by defeating visiting St Pauli 3-2 in their Bundesliga match week 18 at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund.
The win cemented Dortmund's position in second place in the Bundesliga standings with 39 points. Meanwhile, St. Pauli's 11th Bundesliga defeat of the season has left them further down the table with 12 points.
Dortmund took the lead thanks to Julian Brandt's goal in the 45+1 minute, before Karim Adeyemi's goal in the 54th minute put Dortmund 2-0 up.
St Pauli briefly reduced the deficit through James Sands' goal in the 62nd minute, and even managed to equalize in the 72nd through Ricky-Jade Jones. However, Emre Can's penalty in the 90+6th minute secured Dortmund all three points.
Cologne returned to winning ways this week, securing a 2-1 victory over visiting Mainz 05.
Visiting Mainz 05 took the lead in the 29th minute thanks to a Stefan Bell goal. However, Ragnar Ache's brace in the 56th and 85th minutes secured the hosts their fifth win of the season.
The win moves Cologne to tenth place in the standings with 20 points. Meanwhile, Mainz 05 remains in the relegation zone, in 17th place with 12 points. Mainz 05 only have a goal difference advantage over St. Pauli.
