The Head of the East Java PSSI Asprov Disciplinary Committee, Samiadji Makin Rahmat, said that the heavy sanctions were imposed after his party conducted an investigation and assessed that the actions were a serious violation of the PSSI Disciplinary Code.
"The act of kicking an opposing player resulting in serious injury constitutes an act of violence and a serious violation, so the Disciplinary Committee has imposed an additional penalty in the form of a lifetime ban from football activities," Makin said when contacted by cell phone in Surabaya, East Java, on Tuesday.
