Salah is scheduled to undergo medical tests before Liverpool's trip to face French side Olympique Marseille in the seventh (penultimate) round of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday.

British reports revealed that Salah returned to Liverpool a month after leaving the club amid doubts about his future with the team, following his dispute with Dutchman Arne Slot, the Reds' manager.

After being left out of Liverpool's starting lineup for three consecutive matches, Salah made fiery statements following the team's draw with Leeds United, accusing the club of abandoning him after a decline in results.

The "Egyptian Pharaoh" also hinted that he had no connection with Slot, raising doubts about whether he would stay at the club. These statements led to his exclusion from the squad that traveled to Milan to face Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Following his absence from the Inter Milan match, Salah returned to Liverpool's lineup against Brighton in the English Premier League, where he participated as a substitute early in the first half of the match in place of his teammate Joe Gomez. However, he left for Morocco to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations, while his future remained uncertain within the Anfield fortress.

Liverpool are scheduled to train later on Tuesday afternoon before heading to France, and Salah, who played last Saturday in Egypt's match against Nigeria to determine third place in the Africa Cup of Nations, may join his teammates.

Liverpool are aiming to finish in the top eight in the Champions League group stage, in order to advance directly to the knockout rounds of the tournament.

Liverpool, who are seeking to reclaim their continental title which has been absent from their trophy cabinet since 2019, are in ninth place in the competition standings, only behind Inter Milan, as well as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid of Spain, who occupy the sixth to eighth places respectively, and who have the same number of points.
