This came during a phone call made by Erdogan with his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, in which they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as regional and international issues, according to a statement issued by the Turkish Presidency's Communications Department.
Erdogan stressed that Türkiye will continue to make efforts to develop Turkish-Brazilian relations and enhance joint cooperation in various fields.
Regarding the Gaza Strip, the Turkish President appreciated Brazil’s stance against the Israeli genocide, stressing that Ankara will continue to work to end the humanitarian catastrophe, achieve peace, and support efforts to rebuild the Strip.
Israel, with American support, has continued its war of extermination on the Gaza Strip since October 8, 2023, resulting in more than 71,000 martyrs and about 171,000 wounded, most of them children and women, in addition to the destruction of nearly 90% of the civilian infrastructure.
Despite a ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, 2025, Israel has since killed 483 Palestinians and injured 1,287 others, while continuing to impose severe restrictions on the entry of food, shelter materials and medical supplies, amid tragic humanitarian conditions for some 2.4 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
