Two consecutive wins against the Premier League's top two teams, one of whom has won all of their opening Champions League matches this season, is heartening for Manchester United fans everywhere.
There was high expectation after those two wins that this season would not end as badly as last season, so a top-four finish was not impossible.
There are even some United fans who believe their team will lift the league trophy when the season ends.
But usually, teams that are too far from the top of the standings when the competition is more than halfway through the season will not be counted as having the chance to finish at the top of the standings.
As of this week, United were 12 points behind league leaders Arsenal.
The good news is that this season is less predictable than previous ones. Both Arsenal and Manchester City could still falter or even slip up in their final 15 Premier League matches.
Furthermore, playing only league matches while their rivals have to divide their attention between the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, FA Cup and League Cup will benefit Michael Carrick's team.
The atmosphere within the team also seems to be starting to change for the better and warmer.
That atmosphere has been evident in United's last two matches, with their players enjoying a formation they are comfortable playing in.
Bruno Fernandes has returned to his role as the attacking creator, while Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have become more ferocious in front of goal.
Patrick Dorgu has also transformed into a predator after being deployed on the attacking wing. Unfortunately, Dorgu will be out for a significant period due to a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, in midfield, Casemiro has become even more solid after partnering with Kobbie Mainoo, who was left out of the squad by Amorim despite shining during the Erik Ten Hag era.
The formation of two center-backs flanked by two wing-backs also makes United's defense more solid than the three center-back formation used by Amorim.
