"Heavy rains that hit the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings caused several floods," said Head of the Disaster Data and Information Center of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Mohamad Yohan.
According to him, flooding in Jakarta has worsened after the area was drenched by rain from morning until. Furthermore, there was flooding from surrounding areas.
He explained that the water level had reached more than one meter and this occurred in two neighborhood units (RT) in South Sukabumi Village, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta.
In addition to inundating 80 neighborhood units (RT), flooding on Thursday evening also inundated 23 roads with water levels ranging from 10-50 cm.
"The flooding was caused by heavy rainfall and the overflowing of several rivers, such as the Krukut River, the Ciliwung River, and the Mampang River," he said.
