FPTI refrains from bidding to host the 2026 World Climbing Series
The Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation (FPTI) has held off on bidding to host the 2026 World Climbing Series, following the emergence of international dynamics and sensitivities following the controversy surrounding the holding of the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta.

FPTI Chairwoman Yenny Wahid emphasized that this move was not due to Indonesia losing interest or capacity as a world event host, but rather a precautionary measure to ensure that climbing is not affected by issues beyond the sport's technical aspects.

"Due to the impact of last year's gymnastics championship, which became a sensitive issue among the public, we are not bidding this year . Yes, we originally planned to participate. We will see how things develop. Hopefully, we can host it next year," Yenny.
