Indonesian national futsal team coach Hector Souto admitted his team still had difficulty anticipating Kyrgyzstan's power play strategy , despite ultimately securing a 5-3 victory in the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup Group A match at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta on Thursday.
Souto said Indonesia had prepared a strategy to anticipate the goalkeeper joining the attack, but its implementation on the field had not been optimal.
"We prepared for that situation, but we didn't manage to defend well. If we meet them again, we'll have to review and improve," Souto said after the match.
He also praised Kyrgyzstan, who he considered to have performed exceptionally well throughout the match. In fact, he stated that he considered the team to be one of the strongest in the group even before the tournament.
"They've shown that they're a very strong team. They've lost twice, but they played very well. I feel sorry for them because I always like to congratulate teams that play well," he said.
