Israeli shelling targets displaced people's tents in southern Gaza; Health Ministry announces rise in number of martyrs and wounded.

This comes hours after the Ministry of Health announced that the number of Palestinian martyrs as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocide since October 2023 has risen to 71,395 martyrs, in addition to 171,287 wounded.

The ministry said in a statistical statement that hospitals in the sector received 4 martyrs during the past 48 hours, including a recent martyr and 3 who were pulled from under the rubble, in addition to 7 injuries.

The statement did not specify the details of the martyrs and injuries, but the Israeli occupation army continues its violations of the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025, through shelling, shooting and incursions into areas from which it had withdrawn under the agreement.

The Ministry of Health reported that these violations, since October 11, have resulted in the martyrdom of 425 Palestinians and the injury of 1,206 others.

In addition to the human losses, the genocide that began on October 8, 2023, with American support, and lasted for two years, left widespread destruction affecting about 90% of the civilian infrastructure in the sector, while the United Nations estimated the cost of reconstruction at about $70 billion.
