Laurent Mekies does not set ambitious targets for Isack Hadjar
Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies has not set ambitious targets for new Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar, who will partner Max Verstappen in the 2026 season.

After an impressive performance with Racing Bulls, Isack was then given the main driver seat at Red Bull replacing the position previously occupied by Yuki Tsunoda.

"We see it as another start for Isack to continue to develop, to continue to impress us, to continue to surprise us. You would expect results in the second year, or in the third year, maybe even in the fourth year. So it's a bit of a journey for us together," said Laurent Mekies, as quoted by Formula 1, Saturday.

Mekies said that Red Bull has great confidence in the position given to Isack and hopes that the performance he has shown with Racing Bulls can be shown again at the new team.

"We've seen that this year as well. We've seen him make progress in the car, which he's done in the previous three races," Mekies said.

The French racer will make his Red Bull debut during the pre-season test in Sakhir, Qatar, from February 11 to 13.

Then the 21-year-old racer will take part in his first race at the Australian GP which is scheduled for March 6-8.
