The French striker has not fully recovered from the muscle injury that kept him out of the previous match. Liverpool manager Arne Slot remains uncertain about Ekitike's fitness.
"He hasn't trained with us at all until now," Slot was quoted as saying by ESPN on Thursday.
Ekitike previously missed last weekend's match against Fulham due to injury. He was initially expected to return to action when Liverpool visit Emirates Stadium on Friday morning at 3:00 a.m. WIB.
