West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta wants to return to Brazil and continue his career with Flamengo, Sky Sports reported on Monday.
The Rio de Janeiro club is reportedly ready to buy Paqueta for a transfer fee of 26 million pounds (Rp. 581 billion).
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the player has agreed personal terms with Flamengo. Paqueta is even willing to take a pay cut.
But West Ham are reluctant to let him go, especially as they are threatened with relegation, currently sitting 18th in the Premier League table, seven points below the safety zone.
Two other Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in signing Paqueta in the January transfer window, but the 28-year-old midfielder is determined to return to his homeland.
