Former England and Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is the leading candidate to take temporary charge of the Red Devils after sacking Ruben Amorim early last week.
According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Monday, Carrick has received a contract proposal from Manchester United management.
"The deal is almost done and will be signed this week," Romano wrote on his X account.
If completed, Carrick is likely to manage MU until the end of the 2025/2026 season.
Carrick is in pole position over other candidates, including Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
