Persija Jakarta coach Mauricio Souza confirmed that the new players brought in for the second round of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League are in good physical condition, although they still need time to adapt to the team's playing style.
Souza said each player's adjustment process is different, especially in understanding the playing ideas and tactical plans implemented by the coaching staff.
"Physically, they arrived in good condition. Now it's just a matter of understanding how we play, our game plan, and our match plan," Souza said in an interview at the Persija Training Ground in Depok on Tuesday.
However, the Brazilian coach believes Persija's new recruits possess the qualities to help the team in the remaining competitions.
"They are strong players, have technique, and will help us in the competition," he added.
So far, Persija has brought in four new players: Fajar Fathurrahman, Alaeddine Ajaraie, Paulo Ricardo, and Shayne Pattynama.
