PSIM Yogyakarta coach Jean-Paul van Gastel admitted that he will not be shopping for new players in the second round of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League despite the loss of several key players.
Van Gastel said that he was very satisfied with the depth of his current squad, even though they were recently defeated by Persebaya Surabaya 0-3, with the team in a crippled condition because many of their players were suffering from injuries.
"I'm happy with my squad, especially Andy (Setyo), who hasn't played for a long time, played very well," Van Gastel said, as quoted from PSIM's official website on Tuesday.
Against Persebaya, PSIM lost two key players in defense: Yusaku Yamadera due to injury and Franco Ramos Mingo due to a suspension. Andy Setyo and Rendra Teddy, the two players who started at center-back in that match, also didn't play the full 90 minutes.
