Shayne knew Jordi before they both wore Persija uniforms, when they both played for the Indonesian national team. Jordi had already played for Persija, signing a contract at the start of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League season.
"I spoke to Jordi first. I texted him, saying, 'Hey, how's it going there? How are you feeling?' Even before, like the last time we were on the national team, I asked him, 'Hey, do you like Persija? How's the situation there?'" Shayne said when met at the Persija Training Ground .
"He (Jordi) only said positive things. Of course, is a nice city to live in, and the club itself, the team is good, the players are good, and everything is good. So I already knew it was a good club."
