Minister of Communication and Digital: The speed of digital transformation is measured by equality

  Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi) Meutya Hafid emphasized that the speed of digital transformation in the ASEAN region cannot be measured solely by the adoption of advanced technology or the size of the digital economy, but rather by how widely the benefits of this technology are felt by the community.

"The narrative of digital speed often focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption rates and the value of the digital economy. However, the biggest challenge for Indonesia and ASEAN is ensuring equitable access to these technologies for hundreds of millions of people in the region," said Meutya in a written statement received in Jakarta on Friday.

Meutya said that inclusivity is an integral part of digital readiness.

According to him, the speed of infrastructure will be meaningless if it is not accompanied by the speed of digital literacy, especially for the younger generation.
