The Indonesian Internet Domain Name Administrator is strengthening a number of strategies to prevent the misuse of the .id domain as a means of online gambling , digital fraud, and other increasingly diverse and organized illegal content.
"The content is now much more varied and evolving. It can't be handled by one country alone because the crime is organized," said PANDI Chairman John Sihar Simanjuntak after a press conference presenting PANDI's performance report.
He said that current forms of domain abuse are not limited to judol alone, but also include online fraud, problematic digital games, and the sale of fictitious goods that are carried out systematically, even across countries.
To prevent the involvement of .id domains in these illegal practices, PANDI relies on the Indonesia Domain Abuse Data Exchange system. This system serves as a monitoring tool to detect abuse of .id domains once the site is active.
