Jessica Pegula defeated fellow American Amanda Anisimova in the Australian Open quarter-finals on Wednesday to reach her first semifinal in Melbourne.Sixth seed Pegula defeated fourth seed Anisimova 6-2, 7-6 (1) in one hour and 35 minutes to set up a quarterfinal against Elena Rybakina.
"It's incredible. I've been able to go far at the US Open the last few years, but this is the first Grand Slam where I've really made it. And, I was a quarterfinalist three times, and then this year, four times," Pegula was quoted as saying by the WTA.
