Indonesian esports organization Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) plans to expand its operations to Malaysia and Vietnam as part of its global development strategy.
Regarding plans to enter Malaysia, RRQ CEO Andrian Pauline said an official announcement will be made later this month.
"Malaysia's announcement was actually due at the end of this month, so they told us to wait. They said they'd accepted it, because it's a franchise league concept . It's the same in Indonesia, but they're really holding back the announcement," Andrian said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
"So I also can't say, 'oh, I'm going to enter Malaysia.' I can't say things like that either."
Besides Malaysia, RRQ is targeting expansion to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, by mid-2026. Currently, RRQ has operational offices in Jakarta, Manila, and Seoul, having previously opened a branch in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and previously operating in Japan and Thailand.
Some overseas operations were temporarily discontinued due to strategic evaluation and market challenges, such as the office in Brazil which closed last year.
