Samator appeared dominant when crushing Garuda Jaya  The Surabaya Samator men's team put on a dominant performance when they crushed Garuda Jaya with a score of 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-23) in the final match of the first round of the 2026 Proliga at the Tri Dharma Petrokimia Sports Hall in Gresik, East Java, on Thursday evening.

The result was the second win achieved by Rama Fazza et al throughout the first round and brought them up to third place in the standings with 5 points, displacing Garuda Jaya with the same points, but losing in the set ratio.

"Today the boys played quite well and made minimal mistakes. Coincidentally, their opponents were underperforming ," said Surabaya Samator Team Manager Hadi Sampurno after the match.

Samator's dominance was evident from the first set. Excellent serve reception allowed Cuban setter Lyvan Taboada to encourage his teammates to attack and score points. Samator took a 25-17 lead.

In the second set, the Garuda Jaya players tried to increase the tempo and correct mistakes, but the hot Samator team was able to suppress their opponents' attacks. Samator won again, 25-19.

The third set was a tight affair, with Garuda Jaya players breaking through Samator's tight block several times. However, Samator's superior mental fortitude allowed them to defeat Garuda Jaya 25-23.
