The march is being organized by the “Humanity Alliance” and the “National Will Platform,” with the participation of more than 400 civil society organizations, under the slogan: “We will not submit, we will not be silent, we will not forget Palestine,” to demand an end to the Israeli massacres against the Palestinians.
The participants gathered in front of Istanbul's major mosques, including the Grand Hagia Sophia, Sultan Ahmed, Fatih, Suleymaniye and the New Mosque, before setting off in processions towards the Galata Bridge.
The participants raised Turkish and Palestinian flags, wore Palestinian keffiyehs, and chanted slogans of solidarity, including: “From Istanbul to Gaza, a thousand salutes to the resistance,” and “Free Palestine from the river to the sea.”
Participants who came from the Suleymaniye Mosque also raised a banner that read “Justice for Palestine and Conscience for the World,” chanting takbirs and slogans such as “Greetings to the global uprising” and “Criminal Israel, get out of Palestine.”
The march was attended by a number of officials and politicians, including the head of the Justice and Development Party branch in Istanbul, Abdullah Ozdemir, and the head of the Board of Trustees of the Science Spreading Foundation, Bilal Erdogan, along with deputies and mayors, where they performed the dawn prayer at the Arab Mosque in the Karakoy district, and then marched with the citizens towards the Galata Bridge.
