Head of the Development and Achievement Division of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), Eng Hian, is targeting the Indonesian badminton team to win two medals at the 2026 Indonesia Masters.
The BWF Super 500 tournament is scheduled to take place at Istora, Senayan, Jakarta, from Tuesday to Sunday.
"Objectively, PBSI has set a target of two medals at the 2026 Daihatsu Indonesia Masters. Several sectors, particularly men's doubles, have relatively greater opportunities based on performance, squad depth, and pair stability," Eng Hian said at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.
Eng Hiang revealed that in addition to the men's doubles sector, the opportunity to win medals is also being encouraged in other sectors that also have the potential to climb to the podium.
According to Eng Hian, in this tournament, the potential to win a medal is very open considering the even competition among badminton players, even with non-seeded badminton players who could surprise.
