The Israeli army said in a statement that Major (res.) Asael Babad (38), from the 941st Infantry Battalion of the Menashe Brigade, died from wounds he sustained on October 19, 2025, during a battle in the southern Gaza Strip, without providing further details about the circumstances of his injury.
The Israeli occupation army suffered human losses during the war of extermination it launched on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, which stopped on October 10, 2025.
According to the occupation army’s data, 924 Israeli soldiers have been killed since the start of the war, including 471 during ground battles inside the Gaza Strip. 6,149 soldiers have been wounded, including 2,995 during the ground incursion, amid continued announcements of deaths of soldiers who succumbed to wounds sustained in previous periods of fighting.
In contrast, the Israeli genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip left more than 71,000 martyrs and 171,000 wounded, most of them children and women, in addition to widespread destruction of infrastructure, the cost of which the United Nations estimated at about $70 billion.
