The Ministry of Communication and Digital considers online gambling a dangerous threat to families.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) considers online gambling to be the most dangerous digital threat to family well-being.

Acting Head of the Communication and Digital Human Resources Training Center at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Dea Rachman, said that online gambling not only impacts the players but also harms his wife and children.

"It's not just the online gamblers themselves who suffer, but the impact can also affect their families. Mothers can become distraught, stressed because their money has disappeared, their economic situation can become chaotic, and their children may be unable to attend school," Dea said.

He describes online gambling as a poison whose impact is felt from the smallest unit in the social structure, namely the family, and then spreads to society.

The damage caused by online gambling to families is considered to have a wider impact on social conditions in general.

"So why is (online gambling) the most dangerous right now? Obviously, it's because it corrupts the smallest social units and can eventually spread to broader structures," Dea said.
