Trump greets Prabowo after inaugurating the Gaza Peace Council in Davos
.  United States President Donald J. Trump shook hands with President Prabowo Subianto and other world leaders after the launch of the Gaza Peace Council in the main hall of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026, Congress Hall, Davos, Switzerland, Thursday afternoon local time.

At the end of the event, just before leaving the venue, President Trump approached a number of world leaders sitting in the front row and shook their hands one by one, including President Prabowo, who was sitting in the front row on the stage.

The two then had a brief conversation, during which President Trump briefly touched President Prabowo's arm. After their brief exchange, President Trump left the venue, followed by President Prabowo, who also headed to the VVIP ( holding room ) to prepare for his special address at the World Economic Forum's Davos 2026 Annual Meeting.

The launch of the Gaza Peace Council was held by President Trump at Congress Hall, the location of the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, Thursday afternoon.

During the ceremony, President Prabowo also signed the Peace Council Charter with President Trump, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, and leaders of other member states.

Not only Indonesia, other countries that also signed the Peace Council charter include Hungary, Bahrain, Morocco, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kosovo, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Uzbekistan.

After the event, President Prabowo told reporters his hopes for the Palestinian people in Gaza with the Peace Council.

"I think this is a historic opportunity. This is a historic opportunity. This is truly an opportunity to achieve peace in Gaza," said President Prabowo.

"What's clear is that the suffering of the people in Gaza has diminished, greatly. Humanitarian aid is pouring in in huge amounts. I have great hope, and Indonesia is ready to participate," Prabowo continued.

According to Prabowo, the countries that are members of the Peace Council are those that want to help the Palestinian people in Gaza. These countries are also those that desire peace in Gaza.
