Based on network monitoring results , the peak increase in service traffic occurred on New Year's Eve at the Ponorogo town square, Ponorogo Regency, reaching 267 percent compared to normal conditions.
"We are grateful that XLSmart's network and services remain excellent, serving the communication needs of the public and customers during the Christmas and New Year 2026 holiday period," said XLSmart Director & Chief Technology Officer Shurish Subbramaniam in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
XLSmart also noted that streaming services again dominated the traffic surge during the Christmas and New Year period, while voice services experienced a decline of around 10 percent. SMS services, on the other hand, experienced an increase of around 12 percent compared to normal days.
