2026 World Cup: The FIFA trophy tour makes a stop in Algeria

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a delegation from the International Federation of Football, FIFA, on Sunday.

Led by former German international Jürgen Klinsmann, the delegation arrived in Algeria with a miniature trophy for the 2026 World Cup, a tournament in which the Algerian national team will participate. The Fennecs will be returning to the tournament for the first time since 2014, ending a 12-year absence.

The president of the Algerian Football Federation, Walid Sadi, along with several legendary stars of the national team, were also present. As a memento of the meeting, President Tebboune received a miniature replica of the World Cup trophy from FIFA representatives. Their discussions were followed by a commemorative photo session.

The FIFA Trophy Tour aims to promote the 2026 World Cup, hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. It allows fans from different countries to get involved in the tournament before it kicks off.
