The press office of the Moscow Astronomical Observatory reported that the solar eclipse is expected to reach its peak at 15:13 Moscow time, with an apparent magnitude of 0.963, and the phenomenon will last for 2 minutes and 19 seconds.
According to the press office of the Moscow Astronomical Observatory, the ring of fire surrounding the moon during the eclipse will be so bright that it will prevent the view of nearby stars during the solar eclipse on Tuesday, February 17 , which will last about 4.5 hours.
A source at the planetarium explained: "If the moon covers only part of the sun's disk, it is called a partial eclipse. If it covers the entire disk, it is called a total eclipse. If it covers the central part of the sun, leaving a ring around it, it is called an annular eclipse. During an annular eclipse, the bright edge of the sun blocks the solar corona and nearby stars from view."
It should be noted that the eclipse will not be visible in Russia, but the annular phase will be visible from Antarctica and the Atlantic Ocean, while other phases of the eclipse will be visible in South America, Africa, and the Atlantic Ocean. The Sun and Moon will be in the constellation Aquarius during the event.
