AS Monaco drop Paul Pogba from Champions League squad
AS Monaco have dropped Paul Pogba from their Champions League squad ahead of their playoff against domestic rivals Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), L'Equipe reported on Thursday.

This decision means the French midfielder will miss the two-legged duel against the reigning French and European champions.

Pogba was previously named in Monaco's squad for European competition in the first half of the season, despite struggling with fitness issues and focusing on recovering.

However, he is certain not to take part in the crucial match against PSG.

Pogba's career was halted after he was banned from playing in September 2023 while still playing for Juventus, following a failed drugs test.

In February 2024, Italy's National Anti-Doping Tribunal imposed a four-year ban. The sentence was reduced to 18 months after an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Pogba's contract with Juventus was eventually terminated by mutual consent in November 2024. He then signed for AS Monaco the following summer, marking the first time Pogba played in French domestic competition in his professional career.
