Borussia Dortmund beat Atalanta 2-0 in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 playoff at Signal Iduna Park Stadium, Dortmund, Wednesday morning WIB.
Dortmund's victory was achieved thanks to goals from Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier, according to UEFA records.
In the second leg, Dortmund only need a draw to advance, while Atalanta must win by a three-goal margin.
Dortmund will travel to Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo for the second leg next Wednesday.
Dortmund took an early lead in the third minute after Julian Ryerson's cross was converted into a goal by Serhou Guirassy's header.
