Breanna Stewart returns to Fenerbahce in EuroLeague Women 2026
United States (US) national basketball player Breanna Stewart has confirmed her return to Fenerbahce Opet for the 2026 EuroLeague Women's Championship.

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) website stated on Monday that with the return of the forward, the Istanbul, Turkey-based basketball club has increased its chances of winning the prestigious title in the women's basketball league.

She returned to Fenerbahçe in the final stages of the season, having previously been a key figure in the team's inaugural EuroLeague Women's title win in 2023.

At that time, Stewart performed brilliantly and was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the EuroLeague Final Four, after scoring 25 points in a landslide victory of 99-60, against CBK Mersin Yenisehir Bld in the final match.

This impressive performance led Fenerbahce to win their first trophy in the highest inter-club competition on the Blue Continent.

The 31-year-old is also among the elite group of players who have won the Final Four MVP award more than once, joining women's basketball legends Diana Taurasi and Ann Wauters.

Previously, Stewart also won the EuroLeague Women's title with UMMC Ekaterinburg in 2021 and won the MVP award.

Stewart's return is expected to further strengthen the Fenerbahce squad, which already boasts a number of star players, including Emma Meesseman and Gabby Williams.

Breanna Stewart is scheduled to join the team for the Final Six phase which will take place in Zaragoza, Spain, next April.

Her presence is considered to provide additional experience, playing quality, and a winning mentality for Fenerbahce in their pursuit of the EuroLeague Women's title this season.
