Pacific Caesar Surabaya assistant coach Andi Prasetyo said the team's inconsistent performance has become a problem, making it difficult for them to win the 2026 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) competition.
According to him, the problem was evident when Daffa Dhoifullah and his friends lost 68-93 against Kesatria Bengawan Solo at the Pacific Caesar Sports Hall, Surabaya City, East Java, Sunday night.
"We have to acknowledge KBS's superiority, especially in the second and third quarters, so those two quarters were key to the outcome of the match," Andi said.
Pacific Caesar lost its rhythm from the second to the third quarter, which the opponent took advantage of to widen the lead through quick transitions and effective attacks.
Andi said that his own mistakes were a recurring problem, especially when defending.
A number of turnovers made it easy for opponents to score points through fastbreaks, while long-range shooting accuracy also decreased compared to the previous match.
Andi stated that his team still needs to improve its defensive focus to be able to maintain game stability throughout the match.
