Israeli occupation authorities cancel coordination for the evacuation of a new batch of Gaza patients through the Rafah crossing.
Al-Nims told Anadolu Agency that the association was informed by the World Health Organization of the postponement of today’s evacuation of patients and wounded people, without any reasons being given by the Israeli side.

He explained that the Palestinian Red Crescent teams were fully prepared to evacuate the third batch of patients and injured people from the Society’s Medical Rehabilitation Hospital in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, but the cancellation of the coordination prevented the operation from being carried out.

Al-Nims pointed out that the cancellation of the coordination led to the postponement of the travel of patients and injured people who were scheduled to leave today, stressing that they are waiting for the coordination to resume in the hope of carrying out the evacuation process tomorrow, Thursday, in light of the difficult humanitarian and health conditions that patients are experiencing inside the sector.

Official estimates in the Gaza Strip indicate that approximately 22,000 wounded and sick people are in dire need of leaving the Strip to receive treatment abroad, given the near-total collapse of the health system as a result of the ongoing Israeli war of extermination.

With very strict restrictions, the Israeli occupation reopened the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing on February 2, which it had occupied since May 2024.

The crossing was supposed to be reopened in the first phase of the ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025, but the Israeli occupation reneged on that.

According to Egyptian and Hebrew media reports, 50 Palestinians daily, including patients and their companions, were supposed to cross into Egypt, and a similar number were supposed to enter Gaza, but these numbers have not yet been achieved.

Since the crossing was reopened, the first batch of 12 Palestinians arrived in the Gaza Strip, and 20 people left (5 patients and 15 companions), while the second batch saw the arrival of 40 Palestinians and the departure of another 40 (14 patients and 26 companions).

According to semi-official Palestinian figures, approximately 80,000 Palestinians have registered to return to the Gaza Strip. Under Israeli regulations, only Palestinians who left Gaza after the outbreak of war are permitted to return.

The Israeli war of extermination in the Gaza Strip left about 72,000 Palestinian martyrs and more than 171,000 wounded, most of them children and women, in addition to the destruction of about 90% of the civilian infrastructure.

The occupation continues its daily violations of the ceasefire agreement, which has led to the martyrdom of 529 Palestinians, in addition to preventing the entry of the agreed quantities of humanitarian aid, at a time when about 2.4 million Palestinians, including 1.5 million displaced persons, are living in catastrophic humanitarian conditions.
