Japan's national futsal team coach Kensuke Takahashi commented after his team suffered a 3-5 defeat to Japan in the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup semifinals at the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta on Thursday.
"As the head coach of the Japanese national team, my job was to beat Indonesia today, but in the end, I couldn't. So, I feel responsible for Japan's defeat today," Kensuke said at a post-match press conference at the Indonesia Arena on Thursday.
Kensuke is no stranger to Indonesian futsal, having coached the Garuda team for around three years, from 2018 to 2021.
During that time, Kensuke also helped Indonesia achieve third place in the 2018 AFF Cup and third place in the 2019 AFF Cup, also brought the U-20 national team to the semifinals of the 2019 U-20 Futsal Asian Cup.
