MrBeast buys fintech app Step, targeting Gen Z
YouTube superstar MrBeast announced on Monday (February 9) that his company, Beast Industries, has acquired Step, a banking app aimed at teenagers.

Step, which has raised half a billion dollars in funding and grown to more than 7 million users, offers financial services designed specifically for Gen Z.

TechCrunch reports that the service helps them build credit scores, save, and invest. The company has also attracted celebrity investors like Charli D'Amelio, Will Smith, The Chainsmokers, and Stephen Curry, as well as venture capital firms like General Catalyst, Coatue, and payments company Stripe.

If Step wants to continue introducing its fintech products to the younger generation, then partnering with a popular Gen Z figure like MrBeast is the right move.

MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is the most-subscribed creator on YouTube, with over 466 million subscribers . However, his ambitions extend beyond his spectacular videos.
