Persib Bandung defeated Malut United with a score of 2-0 in the 20th week of the 2025/26 Super League at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium, Bandung City, Friday night.
This victory makes Persib firmly at the top of the standings with a collection of 47 points, four points ahead of Borneo FC who are in second place.
This result also maintains Maung Bandung's perfect record at home and avenges their defeat in the first round.
Persib immediately put on the pressure from the start. A dangerous opportunity arose in the 19th minute when Robi Darwis passed to Julio Cesar, but the Brazilian defender's header was saved by the Maluku United goalkeeper.
Persib's pressure paid off after the referee awarded a penalty following Ridho Syuhada's foul on Robi Darwis, which was confirmed by VAR.
Thom Haye stepped up as the executioner and successfully beat the opposing goalkeeper to give Persib a 1-0 lead.
Persib remained dominant until the 40th minute, but several chances proved too strong for Malut United's defense to extend their lead. The score remained 1-0 until halftime.
