British heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury has offered a fresh perspective on his two defeats to his old rival Oleksandr Usyk ahead of his planned return to the ring this year.
"I didn't get the results I wanted in my last two fights. Oleksandr Usyk got the results against me. That's a life lesson," Tyson Fury said via his official social media account, monitored in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Fury previously announced his retirement in January 2025 after two consecutive losses to Usyk. However, six months later, the boxer nicknamed the Gypsy King decided to return to boxing and is currently undergoing a training camp in Thailand.
The 37-year-old is scheduled to face Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 at a yet-to-be-determined location. The bout is said to be a warm-up for Fury's big fight next summer.
In his two fights against Usyk in 2024, Fury has been highly critical of the outcome. After his second loss in Saudi Arabia in December 2024, he even suggested that Usyk benefited from the judges' decisions.
