Women's doubles pair Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum secured the Indonesian women's badminton team's victory over Hong Kong with a score of 3-1 in the Group X match of the 2026 Asian Team Championships (BATC) at Qingdao Conson Gymnasium, China, on Wednesday.
Rachel/Febi played in the fourth match and defeated the pair Lui Lok Lok/Tsang Hiu Yan in a three-game match 21-23, 21-18, 21-11.
Rachel said the match was tight, especially in the second and third games, so the Indonesian pair tried to play more calmly.
"Thank God, the match ended without injury. We tried not to rush into attacking, but rather to control our game and be more aware of each other's shots," Rachel said in an official statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) after the match.
Meanwhile, Febi said communication still needs to be improved.
"Our defense in the first game was still a bit patchy, so communication needs to be strengthened," said Febi.
