Zach LaVine underwent right hand surgery and will be out for the rest of the season
Sacramento Kings basketball player Zach LaVine will reportedly be out until the end of the 2025-2026 NBA season because he needs surgery on his right hand after the 2026 All-Star break.

The NBA website said Saturday that the guard underwent surgery to address the injury, which will prevent him from playing the remainder of the season with the Kings.

Prior to the injury, the 30-year-old had appeared in 39 games, averaging 19.2 points per game (ppg) and shooting accuracy of 47.9 percent.

Losing LaVine is a major blow for the Kings, who are trying to maintain their competitive edge in the Western Conference.

Because, since joining the team, he has become one of the main options in the team's attack thanks to his scoring ability and experience in the NBA.

The 2015 and 2016 NBA Slam Dunk Contest winner was brought in by the Kings last season in a three-team trade deal at the trade deadline.

Since then, LaVine has been expected to add firepower to the team and strengthen the backline in the race for the playoffs .

The club has not provided further details regarding his recovery process. However, reports suggest that the primary focus now is ensuring the player is fully recovered before returning to action next season.

LaVine's absence means the Sacramento Kings will likely have to adjust their rotation to fill the guard void until the end of the season.
