Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa silenced his critics after eliminating Jose Mourinho's Benfica and Joseph "Pep" Guardiola's Manchester City from the Champions League.
Arbeloa admitted that at first he did not believe he could compete against two renowned coaches like Mourinho and Guardiola, but he felt lucky because he had players of very good quality.
"They criticized me for having weak players. Two months ago, I couldn't believe I'd made it this far (in the Champions League)," Arbeloa said in an official club statement.
Los Blancos secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals after crushing Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate in the round of 16 at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on Wednesday.
