Aston Villa prepares young right-back to face MU

Aston Villa is preparing 22-year-old right-back Lamare Bogarde to face Manchester United at Old Trafford Stadium, Manchester.

"He will play if  Cash and Andres Garcia are unavailable," Aston Villa manager Unai Emery told the Aston Villa website on Saturday. Cash and Garcia are still injured.

Emery said Bogarde had performed well so far this season.

The Dutch defender was also considered to have played well when Villa beat hosts Lille 1-0 in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16.

Bogarde was brought in by Villa from Feyenoord to strengthen their youth team in 2020. He was then loaned to Bristol Rovers and made his senior debut in 2024.

"We will help him to perform like he did in the previous match  said Emery.

He was pleased with Bogarde's progress so far.
