FIFA has indicated it will not move Iran's national team match to Mexico

FIFA has signaled that Iran's national team matches at the 2026 World Cup will not be moved to Mexico, despite security concerns following attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran.

This stance emerged after the Chairman of the Iranian Football Federation, Mehdi Taj, stated that his party was negotiating with FIFA to move the Iran match outside the United States due to the ongoing conflict.

a FIFA spokesperson confirmed that they are sticking to the official schedule set after the World Cup draw last December.

"FIFA is looking forward to all participating teams competing according to the announced schedule," said the representative.

"We also continue to communicate regularly with all member associations, including Iran, regarding preparations for the 2026 World Cup."
