The Chairperson of the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FPTI), Yenny Wahid, assured maximum protection for athletes who were victims of sexual harassment and physical violence allegedly committed by the head coach.
"We are providing maximum protection to the athletes, and therefore we are keeping their identities confidential because they are victims. We want to ensure they don't become victims again," Yenny told reporters recently at the 74th anniversary celebration of the Indonesian Olympic Committee.
He emphasized that the athletes' identities must be kept secret so that they do not become victims again due to the negative stigma in society.
According to him, protecting victims is the federation's top priority, especially to ensure athletes remain safe and protected during the case handling process.
FPTI also supports the steps of athletes who have decided to report to the police, by providing legal assistance through lawyers during the legal process.
