The Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FPTI) has tightened its internal regulations to prevent sexual harassment and physical violence against its athletes.
"We will also create safeguarding regulations to ensure there is no room for such incidents to occur again," FPTI Chairwoman Yenny Wahid told reporters recently at the 74th anniversary celebration of the Indonesian Olympic Committee.
He responded to questions regarding FPTI's steps in preventing cases of sexual harassment and physical violence against rock climbers currently under legal proceedings.
According to him, FPTI does not want a similar incident to happen again and is committed to creating a safe sports environment for all athletes.
FPTI fully supports the athletes who have reported this case to the police and provides lawyers to ensure their legal rights are met.
