India sends medical aid to Iran

The Iranian embassy in India announced that a shipment of Indian medical aid arrived in Iran on Wednesday and was received by the Iranian Red Crescent Society.

The Iranian embassy in India wrote on social media: "The first batch of medical aid from the respected Indian people has been delivered. We are sincerely grateful to the kind people of India."

According to statements by Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, more than 1,300 people have died and more than 7,000 others have been injured since the beginning of the conflict in Iran.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization reported 18 attacks on health facilities, confirming the deaths of eight medical workers.

On February 28, the United States and Israel began launching strikes against targets in Iranian territory, including the capital, Tehran, with reports of destruction and civilian casualties. Iran is retaliating with strikes against Israeli territory, as well as against US military installations in the Middle East.

The escalation of tensions surrounding Iran has led to a de facto ruling represented by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the vital passage for oil and liquefied natural gas supplies to global markets from the Gulf states, and this has also affected oil export and production levels in the countries of the region.
