Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany said his team's 6-1 victory over Atalanta in the first leg of the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League round of 16 in Bergamo, Italy, was due to their dangerous attack.
"It was the performance we were hoping for. I even felt we could have scored one or two more goals. We were very dangerous in attack throughout the match," Kompany said, as quoted on Bayern Munich's official website.
According to UEFA's official website, the Bavarians put in a ferocious performance, scoring six goals with 12 shots on target from 25 attempts. They also dominated the match, having 68 percent possession.
