Legislators: Remind Iran of its impact on food stability
Member of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Johan Rosihan, reminded the government to be aware of the impact of the Middle East geopolitical conflict not only on oil and gas but also on national food stability.

"The government needs to take the impact of the war between Iran and Israel, and America's involvement seriously. This will impact global oil prices, which will affect distribution costs and our food production costs," Johan said in a statement.

Johan reminded that although the government claims that food stocks are sufficient during Ramadan, the problem on the ground is not only about the quantity of supplies, but also distribution and price stability.

"If we don't anticipate this, even though we have ample stock, the government claimed at the beginning of Ramadan that there would be enough stock for that. The problem is that prices are soaring in the markets. One of the reasons is our uneven distribution," he said.

According to him, the increase in oil prices will increase logistics costs and potentially hamper the distribution of food supplies to various regions.
