President Prabowo Subianto has asked for prayers and support from groups of kiai, ulama, and ustadz for himself and his government to protect the entire nation and safeguard the interests of the Indonesian people.
According to the President, efforts such as realizing the people's welfare, eradicating corruption, and maintaining peace require cooperation from all parties, including the clerics.
"Let us unite, let us work hard, let us secure and save all our people. I ask for your continued prayers, I ask for your support, we will succeed, we will excel, we will overcome all difficulties. We will eradicate those who have been destroying our economy. We will eradicate them, we will confront them, and we will carry out, we will uphold truth and justice," said President Prabowo in his speech at the Nuzulul Qur'an commemoration event at the State Palace.
The national Nuzulul Qur'an commemoration was attended by kiai, ulama, and leaders of Islamic community organizations (ormas), state officials, and there was also Muslim scholar and cleric Prof. Muhammad Quraish Shihab as a speaker.
